There are many choices when it comes to furthering your studies after your secondary school education. One of them is to try and gain entry into the Kolej Komuniti or Community Colleges. Students who are interested to enroll in the courses provided by the Community Colleges can do so through the http://www.jpkk.edu.my/jpkk/ website.

This portal is specifically designed and used to facilitate applications to the Kolej Komuniti around Malaysia. Students who are interested in studying at these colleges would have to check the status of their applications from time to time and to find out if there are any announcements made by the Jabatan Pengajian Kolej Komuniti.

Managed under the purview of the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), the portal provides all the information and resources for students and applicants on all that they need to know about gaining entry into the colleges.

The Jabatan Pengajian Kolej Komuniti is the department that manages the Kolej Komuniti project which was started in 2000. Named as the Kolej Komuniti Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia, this is an institute that provides all the training and skill-sets for students who finished their secondary school education.

This project involved setting of 10 colleges for a start which will then grow to 35 by the year 2007. Originally managed by the Jabatan Pendidikan Teknikal Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia, it is now been moved under the purview of the Ministry of Higher Education through the JPPKK (Jabatan Pengajian Politeknik dan Kolej Komuniti).

Through this project, more colleges are planned to be set up in order to provide more education opportunities for the local students in improving their academic qualifications, skill-sets which will then improve their chances of a better livelihood.

Today, there is a Kolej Komuniti operating in most, if not all states around Malaysia. This include the likes of Kolej Komuniti Arau in Perlis while in Kedah, there are 8 colleges available. There are several Kolej Komuniti available in each state of the country, each of which offers a wide range of courses for students to choose from like the Sijil Kolej Komuniti, Sijil Modular Kebangsaan and other short courses.

Through the portal, students can now apply for enrolment and check the status of their applications. On top of that, they can submit appeals or contact the department for more information.
